Gilt Washington Medallion
Snuff box with a die stamped gilted medallion of George Washington signed: "Morel Fils Fecit "at 6 O'clock. There is some evidence but no proof that these boxes are the same as the ones given by Lafayette on his journey through the US in 1824. The box is composition with a matte dark brown appearance. The bezel is intact but the glass covering the medallion is cracked from 7 to 4 O'clock. The crack is stable. The overall appearance is impressive. SALE $1200.00
